John Martin (comedian)
John Martin is a British comedian, writer and author.
Martin was born in Liverpool and is a circuit comedian who also writes for other comedians. He has written for Ken Dodd, Jimmy Tarbuck, Bob Monkhouse, The Royal Variety Show and The National Lottery show. His television appearances include Today With Des & Mel on ITV. Ken Dodd said of him, "He is my favourite funnyman, a true comedy star".〔(Testimonials )〕 In February 1993, Martin entered the Guinness Book of Records for continuously telling jokes for 101 hours 39 minutes.〔(Guiness Book of Records )〕
Martin has also written a book on the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich, entitled, ''The Mirror Caught the Sun: Operation Anthropoid 1942''.〔ISBN 0-9561741-0-8〕
Martin is Vice President of Colwyn Bay Football Club.
